SURRENDERED vs RESCUED RABBITS
A Rescued rabbit is one who has been totally abandoned or is in a situation where it is not getting the care it needs. A Surrendered rabbit is one who's family cannot (or will not) take care of it any more.

We formed to rescue endangered rabbits. Our job is to take over the daily needs of these rabbits until we locate appropriate forever homes for them. In some cases, counselling can assist families who would otherwise seek to discard their "pesky" companion, thus avoiding an unnecessary surrender.

The problem with surrendered rabbits is that at least 85% of the rabbits in our care are discarded petstore pets that are clogging up the system and preventing endangered rabbits from getting the emergency care they need. Having a pet is supposed to be a permanent decision. It is very harmful for an animal to change hands multiple times.

We are ordinary people with ordinary lives, and the same time constraints as everyone else. We operate this rescue on donations and retirement funds. Every rabbit costs us $100. Since adoption fees are only $50, we must come up with the difference, somehow, or shut our doors. Thanks for understanding.
